Our Staff
Your child’s key person supports their development
“The most important period of life is the first one, the period from birth to the age of six… At no other age has the child greater need for intelligent help.” Dr Maria Montessori
Everyone we employ at Little Fingers Montessori is passionate about child development and they deliver an extremely high standard of early childhood education.
We seek individuals to join our team who have a compassionate approach and understand the importance of following each child’s individual needs. We strive to provide continual support and training for our staff through inset days, individual training courses, and regular appraisals.
Each child is assigned a key person who establishes and builds a strong relationship with them. There is a developmental record kept by the key person that parents have access to at all times. We have always maintained an open door policy as we believe the key to success is communication and sharing.
We welcome parents as an essential part of the school ethos and learning. By creating a family atmosphere the children are able to share their experiences with both parents and teachers.
All our staff is trained in paediatric first aid, and we ensure that everything learned during the course is kept alive and in the forefront of practitioners’ minds so that they are confident, ready and capable. We provide reassurance for our parents that all childcare practitioners know what to do in a paediatric first aid situation, and we acknowledge that children’s safety is at the forefront of the nursery staff’s mind when they care for children.
Our staff (regardless of their job within the Nursery School) all have to undergo rigorous security and identity checks including an enhanced DBS (the national Disclosure and Barring Service) check. We also require a minimum of two references for every member of staff which are fully vetted, as part of our extensive recruitment procedure.
