Extracurricular Activities

Extracurricular Activities

As an addition to our curriculum we also invite specialist teachers to do extracurricular activities. Please note that all coaches and teachers who visit our nursery are DBS checked and are assisted by our teaching staff at Little Fingers Montessori Nursery so each child is supported in their learning and coaching in the best way possible. These activities take place in the mornings, between 9:30am and 12pm. The sessions are free of charge for parents and are provided as part of our varied curriculum.

MONDAY Morning – YOGA – with Laurence
Children who learn yoga and meditation will become more aware about themselves and their surroundings.
Yoga for children is a great idea because it:
• Builds their strength and flexibility
• Increases their body awareness, balance, and coordination
• Provides them with emotional regulation tools
• Develops their language and social skills

TUESDAY Morning – MUSIC and MOVEMENT – with Lucy Sparkles

You can read more about the classes by visiting www.lucysparkles.com.

All the lessons are linked to EYFS practice guidelines and Key Stage One national curriculum. Victoria helps the children and Babies to develop their musical, physical, emotional and intellectual skills through live guitar, a Capella singing games, action songs, rhymes, parachute play, listening and moving to live and recorded music and by playing along on percussion instruments, engaging the children in fun, meaningful and appropriate lessons and enhancing learning through developing physical, emotional and intellectual skills.
Each session create a sense of enjoyment and love of drama, music and dance.

WEDNESDAY Morning – FRENCH – with Laurance
Bienvenue
Laurance offers fun French lessons where children flourish and learn French without realising it! For the past twelve years, She has introduced children to the wonderful world of French using a unique programme.

FRIDAY Morning – STORYTELLING – with Louis
We have the pleasure of listening to many stories told by Louis. The children’s faces light up with excitement when they see him and settle quickly as the session begins.
