Baby Room (0-2 year olds)
Our baby room is situated on the ground floor of our building and comprises a large, comfortable room for playing and sleeping, as well as another room for messy play and mealtimes. All activities have been carefully selected and many have been specifically created by our staff to promote our young children’s social, emotional, physical and communication development. Children are encouraged to select activities themselves, while staff support their choices and provide encouragement and assistance when and where it is needed. Our toddlers are carefully prepared and supported in their transition to the Pre-School, as they are gradually introduced to more challenging activities and invited to join in with mealtimes and other activities upstairs.
Babies’ sleep: Babies and toddlers are able to rest and sleep according to their individual needs; most sleep after lunch and some also have a rest during the morning. We provide a range of sleeping arrangements, including a cot, bouncers and individual mattresses, depending on the children’s sleeping habits and needs.
Babies’ meal time: Children who arrive between 8am and 8.40am are invited to have breakfast, consisting of a choice of healthy cereals, toast, porridge, water and milk. We offer a healthy snack to children in the morning (fruit, milk, water). At 11.30am the children have a hot lunch and at 3.15pm they are offered another lighter meal; both meals are prepared daily in our kitchen. We are able to store and prepare formula and breast milk for the babies.
